Cork Swansea Ferry ReturnsThe West Cork tourism Co-op has announced that the Cork to Swansea ferry service will commence operations on March 1st 2010. Having secured €3m investment from the people of West Cork, Kerry and Wales they are now purchasing a ferry which has been identified for the route. The Co-op is forming a company to run the ferry day to day and they will be responsible for the marketing, advertising and sales for the ferry service. The ferry which was extensively refurbished in recent years is currently configured with four restaurants, two bars, two cinemas including one for children, a children's play area and a conference room for business meetings. It has some 340 cabins including both four star and disabled accessible cabins and should provide a good deal of comfort for all passengers. It is envisaged that the service will run year round between Cork and Swansea comprising of overnight sailings every second day with the crossing taking approximately ten hours.
