West Cork Tourism Events

The Activities information event, which has been held as an evening event in recent years, was held on Sunday 21st March at Acton's Hotel Kinsale. 20 members exhibited at the event all of whom put great efforts into their individual display stands.

This event had previously been established to provide a forum for West Cork Tourism members to collect information on the activities and attractions in the region. The 2003 event had been poorly attended ant it was decided to broaden the focus of the event to encourage increased membership attendance as well as encouraging members of the general public to come along and browse the displays.

Although greater effort had been made with advertising the event (week long radio promotion and voucher facility in Examiner 'County' supplement) attendance was poor. This calls into question the nature of the event, which will now be assessed by West Cork Tourism's elected Council in advance of plans for 2005.
